Adaptive Reuse - Coworking - 1,100 SF - Richmond, VA

Housed in a former row home, Ours is a community and coworking space in the heart of the Fan. A satellite of Index Space in New York, the space hosts lectures, workshops, meals, movie screenings, and game nights as well as being a coworking space. Since community is ever evolving, the space had to be designed to change with the needs of its users. We added a lounge, gathering space that can also be used for temporary workers, a kitchen, a conference room, phone room, dedicated coworking space, and renovated two bathrooms. We added color and texture in many areas but kept the palette simple to call attention to the beautiful light in the space. Acme’s office is just a few blocks away, and it has been a joy to meet our neighbors and build community at Ours.
