Lake House

Renovation + Addition - 11,000 SF - Richmond, VA

Once covered in mirrors and almost entirely white, this house came alive with the addition of texture and color to reflect the vibrant family that bought it. We added a new front porch and back patio, reconfigured the living spaces, and renovated the kitchen, living room, family room, bar, breakfast nook, pool, entry, bathroom, and dining room. This project was a collaboration with Peter Fraser, who designed the clients’ previous custom home. We focused on evocative materials to ground the airy space - a custom zinc and brass hood, sandstone slab hearths, reclaimed beams, white oak cladding, blackened steel and cypress. Hundreds of custom details brought all the elements together to create a space that mirrors the love and energy of its inhabitants.
