This series of prototype homes for a rural central California coastal development seeks to revive the regional typology of the agrarian Rancho: Low, simple discrete forms step and shift with the land to define a series of exterior spaces in the form of courtyards, patios and terraces, all oriented to the sun, breezes and vistas. With a nod to Cliff May, Eichler and MLTW they continue genuine California traditions as an alternative to the bloated Mc Mansions and Faux Villas that permeiate the local real estate market.
